Western Regional Blog – BC, YK, AB, NWT and Nunavut
Spring has officially arrived and that means it is time to look forward to warmer temperatures and new adventures!
We would like to introduce a new event series Teal Together. These are fun and casual opportunities for us to get together and are open to survivors, volunteers, donors and friends and family.
Some ideas we have for Teal Together events include a book club, an evening of flower arranging, make your own Christmas cards, or learn how to use social media such as Facebook. We are also contemplating some men only events and caregivers only events. Below are the details of our very first event, How to Get the Most From Your Digital Camera, and stay tuned for an announcement about our OCC Crafting Circle.
HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA
Have you ever wanted to learn how to use some of the additional settings of your digital camera? How about your smartphone camera? Suzan McEvoy from Photos with Finesse is volunteering to host a class to teach you some photography basics.
Bring your point and shoot style digital camera and/or your smartphone and join us on Friday April 22nd from 7:00-8:00 pm at the Ovarian Cancer Canada office, #105B 1409 Edmonton Tr NE. (Located in the building behind BraTopia) Invite a friend and RSVP to OCC Calgary at this email address firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 403-650-6800.
Looking forward to seeing you,
P.S. Have you got an idea for a Teal Together event? Do you have a passion or talent that you would be willing to share with the ovarian cancer community? Please let us know.
