Ovarian Cancer Canada – Webinar Series

Wednesday, January 27, 2016 – 12 noon (ET)

Gynecologic Cancer and Sexual Health (English only)

Dr. Catherine Classen, Clinical Psychologist; Women’s College Hospital

Lisa Skelding, MSW, RSW;  Individual and Couples Therapist

Do you struggle with any of the following: concerns about your body image; sexual issues or concerns; coping with the effects of gynecologic cancer on your self-esteem; navigating intimate relationships; finding it difficult to talk about these personal issues with people in your life? Gynecologic cancer can take a heavy toll on a woman’s sexuality, body image and overall well-being.

An online support group called “Gyne Gals” is a research study to determine whether or not this kind of program is beneficial for women who are experiencing psychosexual distress after treatment for gynecologic cancer. The webinar will describe this ongoing research as well as discuss the common issues with which women struggle. Ovarian Cancer Canada is one of the funders of this 5 year research project.
